Hi there Tarot Friends, The year is winding down. The super Sagittarius stellium is starting to subside as Mars moved into Capricorn on Monday. Friday is the new moon in late Sagittarius. Just a few hours after the New Moon, the Moon moves into Capricorn. And on Sunday, the Sun moves into Capricorn marking the Winter Solstice. So perhaps some things will start to gel for you as we move into the New Year in just a few weeks. I've been working on moving the majority of this year, and it looks like it's finally coming together! I have Capricorn rising and Mars rules my 4th house of home, so this hard earned progress is certainly welcome on my part. 2026 is a Wheel of Fortune Year🛞2026 is a 10 year. The Wheel of Fortune. Which sounds like chaos… and perhaps it will be. But you’ve lived through other 10 Wheel of Fortune years. The last one was 2017. Before that 2008. Before that 1999. By mapping my Tarot year cards across my life, I noticed something interesting… History doesn’t repeat itself, but it often rhymes as Mark Twain supposedly said. Tarot years do too.
Tarot Card Years are NestedWe all move through the same calendar year, but we don’t experience it the same way. Alongside the collective year card, each of us has a personal Tarot year card, calculated from our birth date and the year in question. When you track those cards across time, patterns emerge that are quite revealing. You might assume that every 1 year is a new beginning. But that’s not always the case. I found that the repetition of my soul card, the 5, the Hierophant are the years that light up like a Christmas tree. My personal 5 years as an exampleFollow along as I recount each successive 5 year from my year of birth. 1968- my birth year I was born in 1968, during a period of collective upheaval. I don’t remember it, but the backdrop matters. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated. The Vietnam War was still ongoing. I arrived as the culture itself was questioning authority and direction. 1977 My family moved from New York to Chicago in an exceptionally snowy year. New York has snow, but not like that. Our back door was snowed shut. Stop signs disappeared, replaced by tall flags marking where intersections used to be. It was my first lesson in losing familiar reference points and learning to navigate without them. 1986 I graduated high school and left home as fast as I could. I started college in Texas, a place that would become a recurring anchor in my life. I’ve left and returned many times. It’s where my mom is from. It’s where something in me recalibrates. 1995 After stepping away from college for several years, I went back. Not because I was supposed to, but because I chose to. It wasn’t a rewind. It was a re-entry, this time giving myself space to explore. 2004 I began teaching at a community college. And I moved again. School and moving, part of the pattern. 2013 A Temperance year. Fourteen. A five hidden inside a calm-looking card (1+4=5). That was the year I got my real estate license, which turned into a seven-year chapter. I’m not a career person, so that alone tells you something. I slammed the door on my prior direction and took a big leap into something new. It was NOT easy. 2022 In 2022, another Temperance year, I tried on the idea of being a digital nomad and moved to Mexico. I planned to be gone for six months. I was back in six weeks. Uh, that Temperance alchemy got a little outta control. But lessons learned. The Rhyme Beneath the EventsWhen I line these years up, I see common themes of moving and higher education. But maybe more importantly- I see the same questions returning, again and again, in different forms: How do I move forward without losing myself? That’s my rhyme. Fate or Free Will?Fate is, What’s going to happen? Your year card is predetermined. That’s your fate. And this fate has a pattern to it, repeating across years. Observing the pattern, you might ask yourself —What kind of year is this built to be… and how does it tend to behave around me? When you recognize your own patterns, the future stops feeling like fate and starts feeling like terrain. This allows you to use your free will to navigate that terrain. If you want to try this kind of mapping for yourself, I’ll be doing it live on YouTube on December 28th. Bring your deck and pull along with me as we forecast our own 2026 Tarot Roadmap! In this LIVE interactive event you will:
