Hi there Tarot Friends, You don't need years of Tarot experience to create your own spread. What you need is lots of questions in your head. A curious mind and a willing heart, The intuition to trust—that’s where you start. Lay the cards with purpose and grace, Each one a guide, give each one a space. No rigid rules, no "right" design, Just let your soul draw the line. So shuffle, ask, and fan them wide— Your spread, your voice, your inner guide. How to turn your questions into answers with your own personalized Tarot spread--even if you just bought your first deck. Step 1 - What do you want to know?Your question may be broad such as what do I need to know right now? Or it might be very specific such as: will I get a call back from the interview I just went on? If you get stuck coming up with a question, pick a topic (such as work) and then create a question using the who, what, where, when, and how framework.
Step 2 - Create a mind mapNext create a mind map of what your question encompasses. Don't worry, you will learn to do this in your head the more you practice it. But if you are a beginner, I recommend getting out pen and paper and writing it out. This step will SAVE you from unclear readings. Step 3 - Craft a spread from your mind mapUse the mind map you created or part of the mind map to create the placements for your spread. Too add more umph to your layout (optional) Think about the shape of the spread. Is it linear moving from point A to point B? Is it more circular where the placements relate to each other and don't necessarily have fixed path? Can you make it the shape of your question? For example a spread about your house in a house shape. Or a spread about different family members in the shape of a family tree. Step 4 - lay out your cards and interpretYour spread is now ready for use! Before you lay any cards take a moment and focus on your question and the spread placements. Ask yourself what you expect to see once you do lay cards. Ask yourself what you are afraid to see and what you hope to see. Don't worry, asking these questions up front won't "jinx" the reading. Now shuffle and lay the cards. If you are curious, here's what I pulled for the spread I just walked you through. Astro updatesWe are in a waxing moon after the second of 2 eclipses in March. The Moon is in Cancer today (Wednesday) and Thursday. It's a good time to plant. Venus and Mercury are still retrograde and going direct next week. Neptune has moved into Aries where it will stay through October 22 when it retrogrades back into Pisces. March was a topsy turvy month with lots of action. We should be headed into calmer waters now. Hopefully by this point you are untangling some of the knots that were presented by Mercury and Venus retrograde. Have you changed course, changed your mind, made some decisions? What's new in your life? Do you want to keep it? If so, what do you need to do to seal the deal so to speak? -Cassandra the Card Reader |
