â Hi there Tarot Friends, I'm not so sure about all this water in the sky with Scorpio, Pisces, and Cancer all activated from now until December. I have NO water in my chart, so this is a bit weird...I feel like I'm drowning and then I come up for air. I'm hoping to open the doors to a free Tarot membership next week, but don't hold me to it! Just know it's coming. Discover Tarot's Rich Shades of MeaningWhen I spent 6 weeks in Mexico, I pined for 2 things: âgood, strong coffee with half and half đşgood, strong IPA beer Yes, Iâm so American, God love me. You see, half and half does not exist in Mexico! So even if I made my own coffee (which is another horror story all itâs own), I had to drink it with milk. Latte or cappuccino? Mostly cappuccino. The beer situation? Tragic.đ Mexico has not developed the mind boggling array of micro breweries churning out hoppy IPAâs like the U.S. has. Most bars offered the same handful of beers, none of them local. And forget six packs. Iâd buy expensive single bottles at the convenience store or the occasional grocery store that catered to touristas. Anyway, for the entire time I was in Mexico, I was performing daily taste tests of my 2 loves: beer and coffee. Each day was a new This or That. Which one is better? Stronger? More complex in taste? Which one was I happy to see again? Or not? And that brings us to todayâs Tarot practice which I call âThis or That?â This or That ExerciseNote: every time you do this exercise, the results will be different. âYou will be different. âLife will be different. âYou may use a different deck, leading to different results. The exercise is a way to practice connecting to your intuition (which happens in the moment) and start developing some relative relationships between the cards. For example, on the happiness scale, which card is more âhappyâ : 3 of cups, 10 of cups, or 6 of wands? Remember, no Tarot Police! So land however you want to land with your determinations. Step 1-- Draw a scale at the top of a piece of paper, or use the worksheet. -- Lay down 2 cards. --Write a few lines about each card, whatever comes to mind at the moment. For example: 3 of cups - good times with friends, enjoyment, I like how everyone looks relaxed. 6 of wands - a victorious parade, being honored, are they making too much of this guy? -- Write a few lines about how and why one card is better than the other one. For example: I think the 3 of cups is better because itâs intimate, and everyone knows each other. Itâs fun and enjoyable without being over the top. The 6 of wands seems a bit overdone. I mean, what did this guy do? I feel happy for him, but Iâm suspicious. --Repeat this exercise 3-5 times. Notes: Your answers will be biased according to your own preferences and values. Thatâs okay! Concentrate on giving your genuine assessment for this moment in time - NOT the Universal perspective, the Spiritual perspective, the Rider Waite perspective etc. If it just seems too arbitrary, make something up. Step 2
The question can be hypothetical, like imagining if someone came to you and said, âShould I break up with my boyfriend?â Or you can use a real question of your own. Make sure you write the question down. Itâs easy to get fuzzy on what you asked.
The first card represents option 1 - break up. The second card represents option 2 - stay with him.
Why? As in life, there may be no clear cut answer or âwinnerâ. But if you had to pick one option, which would you pick? Why? â Bonus RoundRepeat the exercise as above, but this time lay 3 cards:
Other is something you havenât thought of or arenât seeing - a so called âwild cardâ. Because as a good reader, you want to see beyond the appearances, the outer circumstances, and into the underlying fabric. What I hope you will discover
