Ignore your intuition: dead simple tarot

If Tarot feels like guessing -
It’s not because you lack intuition.
It’s because you’re using it too soon.

You’ve asked a question.
The Queen of Wands looks directly at you.

“What?!”
If this card could only talk.

Okay, I think the Queen is probably my boss at work.
Well no, maybe I’m supposed to be more creative and use that part of myself.
Mmmmm… feel into it…I dunno
Maybe I should check definitions.

Card - intuition - meaning, right?

Whoops, you forgot something!

The problem is you you’ve been trying to interpret something you haven’t looked at yet.

Card - LOOK - intuition - meaning

You forgot to LOOK.👀

How to look at Tarot cards

When you first lay down a card or cards, take a moment and notice what’s in front of you.

This is NOT:

  • decoding
  • thinking about definitions
  • jumping to what it means

Look and describe what you see, this primes your intuition.

The Queen of Wands:

  • woman over 30
  • seated in a chair, holding a staff or rod
  • tree branches and bird nest in her hair
  • she has tattoos, one of a salamander
  • 2 small lap dogs sit on either side of her
  • lush, spring meadow
  • she appears to be claiming space

The Two of Wands:

  • woman over 40
  • stack of old style maps before her
  • holding a compass
  • globes and the ocean behind her
  • she appears to plotting a course

So now it comes …What we have here is someone claiming space and someone plotting a course…

Think of each card like a frame in a graphic novel.
Your job isn’t to decode it.
Your job is to see what’s happening.

Once a psychic described an image as me sitting at a table with photographs in front of me, arranging images for a scrapbook.

What she actually described was me reading Tarot.

She wasn’t that far off really.

Tarot doesn’t look complicated from the outside. It looks like someone arranging pictures until a story appears.

So the next time you pull cards I invite you to pause and LOOK as step 1.

You don’t need to know what the card or cards mean.

You just need to see with fresh eyes what’s in front of you.

And this is where it gets interesting.

When you actually activate your senses and LOOK
your intuition kicks in.

You see:

  • patterns
  • opposition
  • memories are triggered
  • the clouds shift and a story appears

This is when you know the Queen of Wands is your boss and not your inner creative.

If your Tarot readings haven’t been landing with yourself or others,
if you’ve been second guessing yourself into a corner,
if you wonder if you’re intuitive enough to read Tarot

Nothing was missing. You just started in the wrong place.

The next time you pull a card, start with LOOKING.
Observe the picture. Then read it.
