🔀It is what it is...

Friday night there was some kinda super cell thunderstorm with 80mph wind gusts that literally rattled my windows and, quite frankly, rattled me!

A really large limb from the Pecan tree out back snapped my internet connection.

It’s Monday as I write this and it’s still out.

Another limb from a tree on the side of the house fell on my neighbor’s roof. Luckily it was the tips of the branches and didn’t do any damage.

I tried the hotspot on my phone.

It really doesn’t work.🤷‍♀️

So I’m here at a coffee shop.

Upon arriving, my eyes darted around quickly looking for the few working plugs. I knew I’d be here a while.

Found one!

I plug in.

It doesn’t work.

No worries, I’ve got time.

I keep my eyes scanning the room.

Then I spy a plug by the front door, next to a slouchy easy chair.

I pick up everything and move.

Laptop atop crossed legs.

Not sustainable.

Hmmm…

I type for a bit.

There’s a table next to me, but it’s way too high to work from.

Then I spy a small stool.

So I move the table in front of the stool and pile my other stuff onto the easy chair.

The I order a glass of wine.

Now we’re cooking with gas!🔥

Nothing about the situation actually changed.

My internet is still out.

The coffee shop did not magically produce a proper desk.

I still have the same chair, table, stool, outlet and laptop.

I just rearranged the pieces.

And suddenly it works.

Sometimes the problem isn’t the pieces.

It’s the arrangement.

Now here’s the fun part

Did you know you can do the same with a Tarot spread?

Ask a question and lay 3-5 cards.

Read the spread as you normally would.

Then, instead of pulling more cards, try moving the cards you have.

Not because you are trying to force Tarot to give you a better answer.

Au contraire.

You’re experimenting with the arrangement.

What happens if this card becomes the obstacle?

What happens if that card becomes you?

What happens if the thing you know becomes the thing you don’t know?

Question: What if I move in January?

The way I’m reading this first layout is:

I’m being very discerning about the next house (King of swords) and I’m looking for something that’s worth it (6 of pentacles).

I know it’s going to be a financial outlay to move, but doable (King of Pentacles).

What I don’t know is it’s going to take some serious fortitude to make it happen (Strength). The obstacle is underlining the need to tough it out in some way (9 of wands).

Then I rearranged the cards.

I switched me from King of Swords to Strength.

And what I don’t know from Strength to King of Swords.

The way I read it now is:

I have the Strength and fortitude to make a successful move. All I need is the right place. The one that’s worth it.

I know it’s going to be a financial outlay.

👉What I don’t know is that there’s someone who can help me cut through the crap and find the right place.

It’s just a matter of sticking with it.

Wait, isn’t that cheating??!

Don’t cancel me just yet, 🤣.

So if it’s cheating, I’d ask you who said it was cheating?

I have a no Tarot Police policy here at the Tarot Underground.

Tarot has a lot of conventions that have been decreed by who knows and hardened into law.

I say, let’s test assumptions and find out.

We have a lot of latitude in Tarot that we simply don’t use.

Notice in my example, I didn’t rearrange until I got you’ll find the perfect house no problem!

In fact, using the spread layout and cards I pulled, I don’t see how I could have gotten that answer.

But having 2 cards swap places, well that made the whole thing more hopeful.

Now I have the idea that maybe I should contact an agent or locator or start looking somewhere I haven’t.

Because the King of Swords is somebody who knows things! An expert.

Same cards.

Different arrangement.

Different story.
