March is where you stop pretending you're the old you

Hi there Tarot Friends,

Looking for a spread based on this article? March Tarot Spread.

I dreamed I was going on a trip with someone.

She had a dog.
I had a dog.

She had a leash for her dog.
I forgot mine.

What to do.

To put it simply, March feels untethered.

Saturn and Neptune have exited Pisces and stepped into the brave new world of Aries. As the month progresses, Mars becomes visible and both Venus and the Sun pass through Aries.

The roller coaster is cresting the top of the hill.

And here’s the thing about roller coasters:

😨You don’t control the drop.
😨You don’t control your face.
😨You don’t even control the scream.

The wheel turns.

Wheel of Fortune

March feels like the first domino to fall in this 2026 Wheel of Fortune year.

But untethered does not necessarily mean unhinged.

Fire Needs a Crucible

I moved into a new house mid-January.

I’ll close on the sale of my previous house mid-March.

In between, I’ve been questioning and quietly dismantling many of my routines and habits.

Most of them weren’t bad.

They were simply… standard protocol.

The Virgo eclipse on March 3 feels like it will put the nail in the coffin of a few more.

And Virgo brings up an important word for me right now:

Devotion.

March is fiery. Aries is bold. Mars is visible.

But fire without devotion burns out.

This is where The Hermit enters the room.

The Hermit doesn’t charge the Bastille.

He tends a flame.

Monks, Vinegar, and Living Things

I brew kombucha and have for years.

Each batch is alive. It behaves differently in winter than in summer. I adjust recipes for the season. I watch. I wait. I taste.

Recently I wondered if kombucha was just glorified sipping vinegar.

So I went wandering on YouTube.

I discovered that medieval monks were instrumental in developing not only wine as we know it — but vinegar.

Daily tending.
Seasonal awareness.
Years of refinement.

Centuries later, we sip their devotion.

That’s what the Hermit understands.

Not scale.
Not spectacle.

Refinement.

Distillation.

The Emperor Knows Where to Build

The month card for March 2026 is The Emperor — number 4.

A time to assert. Build foundations. Take action.

But here’s the interesting part.

What’s the cousin card to the Emperor?

Death — 13.
1 + 3 = 4.

The Emperor builds.

Death clears.

A useful Emperor doesn’t build walls just to build them.

He chooses carefully where to place his energy.
This is where bold action becomes bold discernment.

“What impedes us in our journey is not obstacles, but a clear path to a lesser goal.” - Robert Brault via Benjamin Hardy

March is unbridled fire in a fire horse year.

March is dangerous because it offers many paths.

Some are loud.
Some are impressive.
Some are easy.

But they are lesser goals.

The Brave Pants

So yes — get your Aries red leather brave pants on.

But not to yell into the drop.😨

To choose.

What is the one true goal worth your fire?

🔥What deserves daily tending — like monks and vines?

🔥What foundation is worth building, and what needs to die first?

In my dream, I forgot the leash.

Maybe that wasn’t a mistake.

Maybe it was an invitation to loosen the grip.

March is untethered.

But that doesn’t mean we float out into the ethers.

It means we choose consciously where to place our energy.

The wheel is turning.

The time is now.

Not for louder action.

For devoted action.
