🤯Turn 'Meh' Tarot into mind blowing sessions🤯

Hi there Tarot friends,

Gosh, well here we are with the 4th of July this weekend. I can't believe it!

I can remember being an impatient little kid and my mom saying when you get older, time moves faster. I had no idea it would be this fast!

So since we don't have a lot of time, let's get to it!

For best results, do this before you even shuffle the cards

A truly transformative Tarot reading doesn’t start with the cards—it starts with the question.

To move beyond surface-level answers and uncover the wisdom of the cards, you need to refine how you ask or approach the cards. Don't make the mistake of having a vague question or interest in mind and start slapping down cards.

As important as candles and incense, this 4 step reading process guarantees a deep and insightful read -- I promise!

The question...

If you've been on this newsletter for any length of time, you know I'm in favor of questions.

As a reader, I love a good question.

Not only that, but the question saves time -- going back to that theme.

The question creates a focal point, and therefore as a reader I don't have to poke around to find the crux of the reading. Broad questions are a-okay.
Some examples:

  • what do I most need to know right now?
  • what truth do I need to face?
  • what's ahead for the next 6 months? (time frames narrow the focus)
  • what's ahead for the next 6 months at my job? (area of interest also narrows the focus)

Oops I just got specific. Here's a few more broad questions:

  • what's standing in my way?
  • where do I have the most power and latitude?
  • how can I step into maximum growth?

The question behind the question

Very often there is a question behind the question. It's what the person (or yourself) really wants to know.

It's easy to distract yourself with questions like will I get the job I applied for--

when you are really asking if you will ever earn the amount of money you want --
or have a satisfying career--
or every have a partner that will take care of you.

I can always tell if I answered the question behind the question. It's like a soap bubble popping🫧
And the person kind of relaxes and I can tell that's what they really wanted to know.

Take some time and be honest with yourself. What do you really want to know?

What's a better question?

Let's face it. We are all pretty lazy. We just pop out a question and hope for the best.

Ask your question, and then pause.

Next, ask yourself if there is a better question. Better questions are ones in which the answer opens a door for you, and maybe even have a course of action baked in. This is why yes/no questions get a bad rap. They often leave the asker hanging if the answer is no.

Then what?

If your question is will I get the job I applied for, a better question might be:

  • is the job I applied for a good fit for me?
  • what do I need to know about the company I will be working for?
  • how can I showcase my talents and achievements in any job I apply for?

And yes, if you're on pins and needles and want to know if you're gonna get the job, then go ahead and ask. 😉

What's the answer I expect to see

If you skip all the previous steps, and apply only this one, I guarantee your readings will get 10x clearer.

Taking a moment to anticipate what the reading is going to look like is step 1 of prediction. If the reading plays out the way you were expecting, great, you can dig into the details. If it doesn't, you can hit the ground running to see what is actually going on.

Let's dig in a little deeper.

For the question will I get the job I applied for, what do you expect to see for an affirmative, yes? What does someone getting the job look like in the cards? How about a no?

Obviously every reading is different, spread placements are different, but here are a few ideas:

  • Aces - new beginnings, yes
  • Tower - ugh, that doesn't look good, no
  • 2 of wands - coming together, could be a yes
  • Devil - the person doesn't believe they will get the job, maybe
  • Hanged Man - delays, maybe

It goes on and on, and as I said, every spread will be different. The takeaway here is to anticipate what the reading will look like before you lay any cards.

In summary

By refining your question, uncovering what you truly want to know, and anticipating the answer, you transform your reading from a guessing game into a powerful dialogue with your intuition.

So before you even shuffle, ask yourself:
1. What’s the real question here? (Dig past the surface.)
2. How can I ask this in a way that opens doors? (Better questions = better answers.)
3. What do I expect to see? (Make a prediction about what a yes will look like.)

Do this, and every reading becomes a mirror, a compass, and a roadmap—exactly what Tarot was meant to be.
