Using storytelling to become a phenomenal Tarot Reader

Hi there Tarot friends,

The astro skies are clearing but still partly cloudy (here in Texas that's a good thing - not so hot).

This week we are under a waning moon, which I am seeing as an opportunity to go inward and assess how the eclipse season along with Venus and Mercury retrograde changed our inner and outer landscapes.

I, myself, will be lighting a candle to Temperance and asking for help to reconcile inner beliefs that are working at cross purposes with what I say I want.

Tarot Storytelling Breakthroughs

The Tarot Breakthrough Masterclass is in week 6 of 8. I can't believe it's almost over!

I wanted to share with you something that came out of that Masterclass.

For one of the lessons, we explored the suits through the lens of creating a story with the cards A-10 of any given suit.

Here is the timeless story we came up with for the suit of Pentacles.

Early Bird and the Suit of Pentacles

A - Early Bird walks through the garden gate

2- He keeps walking until he meets the sea and there he encounters a seaman. Early bird says he is looking to find riches and the seaman says always keep lots of balls in the air. Keep juggling.

3- Early bird thanks the seaman and keeps walking along the shore until he sees a man building a church. Early bird says he is looking for riches and the man says pick up a tool and help me. Early Bird declines and keeps on his journey.

4- He meets a young man with a full purse. To his request for riches the young man says, "These are my riches. Go find your own"

5- Early bird continues on and encounters some homeless people. He decides not to talk to them and wonders if he will ever find riches.

6 - Next, Early Bird encounters a money changer in the market who tells Early Bird to keep his scales calibrated and balanced and say neither a lender or borrower be.

7 - Early Bird wanders far into the countryside and meets a farmer. The farmer tells Early Bird, "you reap what you sow. Choose your seeds wisely"

8 - The next encounter is with an artisan doing his work. He tells Early Bird to perfect his craft and become an apprentice. Early Bird continues on looking for riches.

9 - Along the side of wide street sits a wealthy woman. When Early Bird asks her how she found her riches, she tells Early Bird he has everything he needs to be rich right now.

10 - Early Bird finds his way back home and says, "there's no place like home. Here are my riches."

Create your own stories

Long before books and algorithms, storytelling was how wisdom survived.

Myths, parables, and oral traditions carried the essence of human experience across generations— through narratives that lived in the heart.

The Tarot deck is no different. It’s a mirror of life’s archetypes, a collection of symbols waiting to be woven into stories that speak directly to you.

When you lay out the cards, you’re not just reading meanings—you’re stepping into a conversation with your own intuition.

The example above is rather universal, but your suits story can be highly personal.

For example, a "standard" definition might tell you the Five of Swords is about conflict, but your story might reveal it as the moment you walked away from a pointless argument with your mom, or the bittersweet victory of standing your ground with a boss.

The Eight of Cups isn’t just "walking away"—it’s about the time you hitched a ride across several states because you knew you couldn't stay in that relationship anymore.

I invite you to pick a suit and lay out the cards in order A-10. Now pick up a pen and write that story!

Feel free to hit reply and send me your story. I'd love to read it.
