The Tarot Underground

Hi there Tarot Friends, Leo Fest is still perking along, with new goodies being added every week. This week's gift is a free-form spread creator. Sunday was the Leo New Moon, with Mercury stationing retrograde the same day. That got me to thinking about how thoughts create reality (the Law of Attraction) and ways to use Tarot to help with the process. How to ferret out stinking thinking, and clear out head trash so your manifestation efforts work clear some head trash with the Daily...

Just more ways to explore the cards. “I’m a good wife,” she kept saying. “I take off my husband’s boots when he comes home.” My 58 year old divorced self is thinking, “Don’t do that. Please don’t do that.” But I didn’t say it. What I did instead was point to the Empress card and talk about her....

Chew on this: You don’t have to know exactly what every card in a spread means to keep a reading moving. In fact, here are a handful of techniques reading at parties and events that keep me from having to reach for another card. My reading table at the Witte Museum Think about having a conversation with someone. If they say something and you’re not quite sure what they mean, you don’t shut it down over a bit of confusion, do you? You might repeat back what you heard. You might ask a question....

A lot of us grew up being told not to mess with “the occult”. Maybe we were told it was dangerous. Or that it was from the Devil. Or that we’d lose our minds. (My ex husband liked that last one). Whether that was from a materialist perspective of that stuff doesn’t really exist, or from a religious perspective that it was of the devil, there was a sign that read: DO NOT ENTER. So maybe you’ve picked up your first Tarot deck, but instead of being excited about what you might discover, you’re...

So you just pulled another Major Arcana, maybe it’s Judgement 20 , and you don’t really know what the bleep this card is trying to say. Oh crap, where’s my book? Don’t worry. In today’s episode, I’m going to teach you how to create a framework that comes from your own brain— Little hooks to hang the Majors on so you’ll always have something to say and a place to start when that card comes up. Sigh of relief. 😅 Looking for a way to tackle the minors? Try this. Why Does Disney Make Fairy Tale...

It’s really hard to get into the flow of a Tarot reading when every other card has you stopping to look up what it means. The idea here is not to create and memorize the be all end all set of correspondences for each card. The idea is to create a little coat hook in your mind -somewhere to hang your understanding for the time being. The Minors The minor arcana (the numbered cards) plus the court cards are 70% of the deck.Get a grip on the minors, and you’ve tackled the majority of the deck....

Remote viewing is having a moment right now. If you have a deck of Tarot cards, you can play with some of the same principles without learning an entirely new system. 👁️ The Magician from the deck I created way back in 2013 You don’t have to become a Las Vegas stage magician to learn a couple of really good card tricks. Tarot is the same way (and I’m not implying it’s some kind of trick). You don’t need to learn every traditional meaning, every ritual, every rule and adopt a belief system. On...

A lot of people come to Tarot because they want answers. 👉But maybe one of the deeper reasons, and maybe this is you, is you want life to feel a little less flat and a little more alive. More texture. More surprise. More of those strange little “winks from the Universe.” Think of it as a signal finder The Hermit -found it on Pinterest Lord knows there’s too much noise out there. Even if you limit yourself. There are so many ideas and takes to filter through- and decide how you feel about it,...

You’re in the middle of a Tarot reading. You see something in the cards. You think you know what it’s referring to… but you’re not totally sure. So what do you do? Ask. “Is there something going on with work right now?” “Does this feel more like your relationship, or your family?” “Is there a decision you’ve been putting off?” Newsflash: You do not have to sit there silently trying to psychically determine the correct answer. Friday night there was some kinda super cell thunderstorm with 80mph wind gusts that literally rattled my windows and, quite frankly, rattled me! A really large limb from the Pecan tree out back snapped my internet connection. It’s Monday as I write this and it’s still out. Another limb from a tree on the side of the house fell on my neighbor’s roof. Luckily it was the tips of the branches and didn’t do any damage. I tried the hotspot on my phone. It really doesn’t work.🤷♀️ So I’m here at a...
